NDLEA Chairman Marwa Threatens Tougher Action on Drug Barons After Tinubu's Reappointment

The Chairman of Nigeria's drug law enforcement agency, NDLEA, Brig. Gen.

Buba Marwa, issued a warning to drug barons and trafficking cartels to abandon the illegal drug trade or face even harsher actions during his second tenure. Marwa's statement came after President Bola Tinubu reappointed him for a five-year term.

Marwa expressed gratitude for the recognition of NDLEA's efforts in combating substance abuse and drug trafficking. He emphasized the agency's commitment to fulfilling Tinubu's directives and urged those involved in illicit drugs to seek alternative livelihoods.

Marwa also highlighted NDLEA's focus on drug demand reduction, prevention, counseling, treatment, and rehabilitation.
