Matawalle Commissions DICON Institute of Technology in Kaduna

Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, commissioned the DICON Institute of Technology (DIT) in Kakuri, Kaduna State, alongside a Solar Power System at the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) headquarters.

Dr. Matawalle stated that a nation's defense strength relies on the expertise and capacity of its people, highlighting the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration to indigenous capacity building through education and technological advancement.

He described the institute's inauguration as a strategic milestone for Nigeria's industrial and technological resilience. Major General Babatunde Ibrahim Alaya, the Director General of DICON, expressed gratitude to the President for signing the DICON Act 2023 into law and emphasized the institute's mission to produce competitive engineers and innovators for the defense industry.

DICON has been pivotal in supporting the Armed Forces with military hardware for over six decades.
