Crayon Criticizes Don Jazzy Over Mavin Records Issues

Nigerian Afro-pop artist Crayon, whose real name is Charl Chibuez Chukwu, recently released a single titled "Baami" across streaming platforms. Following the release, he took to social media to express frustration with Mavin Records and its CEO, Don Jazzy.

Crayon accused Mavin Records of earning 200 million naira without compensating artists, highlighting delays in payments. His tweets suggested internal tensions within the label, particularly regarding fellow artist Rema, whom he accused of "stealing" his shine.

Crayon's outburst included multiple posts questioning the label's decisions and management, indicating a sense of dissatisfaction with his experience at Mavin Records, where he has been signed since May 2019. The situation escalated as Crayon hinted at feeling compromised and suggested that his Instagram account had been hacked.

His comments have ignited discussions on social media about the dynamics within Mavin Records and the treatment of its artists.
