Prof. Gwarzo Awarded Honorary Membership by AMLSN

The Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN) has conferred Honorary Membership on Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, the President and Founder of MAAUN Group of Universities, in recognition of his significant contributions to higher education, healthcare training, and the advancement of Medical Laboratory Science in Nigeria and Africa. A letter dated September 4, 2026, from the association noted that Prof. Gwarzo was nominated by its National Executive Council for his outstanding contributions to the profession's development.

AMLSN acknowledged his support for establishing Medical Laboratory Science education at MAAUN in Niger Republic and MAAUN Kano, particularly commending his backing of the Doctor of Medical Laboratory Science (MLSD) programme. This initiative aims to enhance professional capacity, research, innovation, and leadership within the field.

Prof. Gwarzo’s commitment has expanded access to quality health sciences education, creating opportunities for future Medical Laboratory Scientists and healthcare professionals across Africa. His formal investiture will take place during AMLSN’s 61st Annual Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting from November 4 to 8, 2026, in Minna, Niger State.
