Gwarzo Donates N10m to PRNigeria Young Communication Fellowship

Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, founder of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) in Kano, donated N10 million to the 2026 PRNigeria Young Communication Fellowship (PYCF). The donation was acknowledged by Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR), the publishers of PRNigeria, in a letter dated August 29, 2026.

Yushau A. Shuaib, Managing Director of IMPR, praised Gwarzo's contribution as a significant commitment to education and youth empowerment.

The funds will support the fellowship's activities in Abuja, Kano, and Ilorin. Gwarzo expressed that his philanthropic efforts are focused on nurturing competent leaders through education and mentorship.

He previously offered a property in Lugbe, Abuja, for use as the PRNigeria Academy and Studio, which IMPR proposed to formalize as a renewable lease donation. Gwarzo's support extends to various youth-oriented initiatives, including the Campus Journalism Awards and internship schemes.

The PRNigeria Young Communication Fellowship, launched in 2024, aims to equip emerging journalists with essential skills and mentorship.
