Messi Stays at 899 Goals After Inter Miami's Draw

Lionel Messi, the 38-year-old Argentine superstar and eight-time Ballon d'Or winner, remains on 899 career goals following a scoreless draw between Inter Miami and Nashville SC in the first leg of the Round of 16 of the CONCACAF Champions Cup. Messi had the opportunity to reach his 900th career goal but was denied by Nashville goalkeeper Brian Schwake, who saved a right-footed shot from inside the box in the 57th minute.

Inter Miami's Dayn St. Clair also made a crucial save, denying a header from Nashville's Reed Baker-Whiting in the 65th minute.

Messi's last goal came during a match against D.C. United, where he scored his 899th goal.

The second leg of this matchup will take place next Wednesday, providing Messi another chance to hit the milestone.
