Michael Carrick Named Interim Head Coach of Manchester United, Steve Holland as Assistant

Michael Carrick has accepted the role of interim head coach at Manchester United, with Steve Holland, a former England assistant manager, set to be his assistant. Carrick's coaching staff will include Jonathan Woodgate, Jonni Evans, and Travi Binnion.

The announcement of Carrick's agreement came on Monday night, with the necessary paperwork expected to be completed by Tuesday. Following the sacking of Ruben Amorim after just 14 months in charge, Carrick takes over from Darren Fletcher as the caretaker boss.

The 44-year-old will lead the team in the upcoming Premier League derby against Manchester City at Old Trafford, marking his three-game stint as United's temporary boss since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's dismissal in 2021.
