Michael Carrick Wins Premier League Manager of the Month

Michael Carrick has been awarded the Premier League Manager of the Month for January 2024 after successfully steering Manchester United through a challenging period. Following the departure of Ruben Amorim in mid-January, Carrick's temporary management began with a 2-0 victory over Manchester City, showcasing a blend of discipline and attacking intent.

He later led the team to a thrilling 3-2 win against Arsenal, handing Mikel Arteta's side their first home league defeat of the campaign. These back-to-back successes allowed Manchester United to collect six points from two fixtures against top teams, a significant improvement compared to their previous three matches against struggling opponents.

This award marks the first time Carrick has claimed a monthly honor and places him in an exclusive group of seven interim managers who have won such accolades. He becomes the second interim manager to win this award after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in January 2019.
