Recovery Efforts Ongoing After AT-42 Military Aircraft Crash

An AT-42 military aircraft crashed into a marshy area, making recovery efforts challenging. Police Commissioner Felix Ohagwu stated that more than 24 hours after the crash, only a few parts of the wreckage and charred body parts were recovered.
The crash site was cordoned off by naval officials, restricting access. Ohagwu explained that the difficult terrain, including creeks and mangroves, necessitated the use of a canoe for site assessment.
He indicated that recovery operations are slow due to the lack of heavy equipment, which is still awaited from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). The commissioner confirmed that there are no survivors, with only body parts and clothing found at the scene.
Recovery efforts are ongoing, and he expressed gratitude to the local police and marine officers assisting in the operation.
