NSCDC's Ahmed Audi Promises Transparency in Minna Deaths

Ahmed Audi, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), visited the Emir of Minna, Umar Bahago, and the families of deceased suspected illegal miners in Niger State to express condolences. During the visit, he assured that the NSCDC would not shield anyone found culpable in the incident, emphasizing the importance of justice and transparency.

A statement from NSCDC spokesman Babawale Afolabi confirmed that the Federal Government, under the directive of the Presidency, had formed a high-powered investigative committee to probe the deaths. Audi stated that the NSCDC is fully cooperating with this committee and that relevant personnel have been placed in protective custody to ensure their availability for the investigation.

Additionally, Audi participated in prayers for the deceased, highlighting their significance for the bereaved families. The Emir expressed gratitude for Audi's visit and the NSCDC's cooperation with the investigative committee.
