Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu Refutes Allegations of Corruption Over Mansion Construction

Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has strongly denied allegations of corruption surrounding the construction of a luxury mansion within two years of assuming office in Nigeria. The minister refuted claims made in a viral video that accused him of using corrupt means to fund the extravagant lifestyle.

Adelabu clarified that the building project began in November 2021 and was completed in August 2023, a month before his appointment as Minister of Power in September 2023. He provided dated photographs of the construction process, official building approvals, and relevant documentation to support his claim that the property was not a new acquisition but a redevelopment of an existing structure.

Adelabu emphasized his longstanding involvement in real estate and hospitality, noting his visible projects across Ibadan and Oyo state. The minister attributed the renewed attention to the viral video to his hosting of a popular musician during a political campaign, condemning the report as a failed attempt to discredit him and the administration of President Bola Ahmed.
