Ugochinyere Fails in Bid for Minority Leader Position

Ugochinyere lost his bid to become the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives during a plenary session held on Wednesday. The resolution, which clarified the eligibility of members for principal offices, was adopted following a motion sponsored by Babajimi Benson, a lawmaker representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in Lagos.

Ugochinyere, a first-term lawmaker from Ideato North and South in Imo State, was nominated last week to succeed Kingsley Chinda, the former Minority Leader who vacated the role to emerge as the APC governorship candidate in Rivers State. However, during the plenary, Philip Agbese, the deputy spokesperson for the House and a member of the Labour Party, denied endorsing Ugochinyere for the Minority Leader position, alleging that his signature was forged on the nomination document.

Ugochinyere later released a video to refute these claims.
