Miss World Nigeria Seeks NYSC Support for Youth Skills

On Thursday, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, the reigning Miss World Nigeria, appealed for collaboration with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to support her pet project focused on entrepreneurship for young Nigerians. During her visit to the NYSC Director General, Brig.- Gen Olakunle Nafiu, at the National Directorate headquarters in Abuja, she highlighted her ongoing initiative, which includes a skill center in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where she trains young men and women in fashion design.

Karibi-George, an ex-corps member, requested permission for her team to visit NYSC orientation camps nationwide to encourage corps members to engage in skill acquisition. She also invited the NYSC DG, staff, and corps members to her national send-forth event scheduled for August 5, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.

She emphasized that her program provides start-up kits instead of cash to prevent misuse of funds, aiming to ensure that the youth utilize the skills learned for business purposes.
