Moniepoint Addresses Cyberstalking Allegations in Court

Moniepoint, represented by Bemigho Awala, clarified during a media briefing in Ikeja that its ongoing cyberstalking case does not target customer criticism. The company emphasized the importance of customer feedback in shaping its services.

However, it has observed a pattern of social media activity suggesting a coordinated effort to disseminate false narratives that could undermine public confidence in the financial system. Law enforcement authorities have been involved, with the Nigerian Police filing seven counts against suspects Adebayo Aliu Fatuntel and Lukmon Tund.

They are scheduled to be arraigned on March 17, 2026, although the case has been adjourned to April 27 due to the absence of the suspects. The charges against them include allegations of coordinated inducement, impersonation, and fabricating narratives that harm Moniepoint's reputation.
