Gateway International Airport Opens in Iperu, Nigeria: Enhanced Travel Options Available

The Nigerian government announced the opening of Gateway International Airport in Iperu, offering more travel options for Nigerians. The airport received its first commercial flight on October 7, 2025, after being commissioned on August 15, 2025.

The facility met regulatory standards and obtained the Aerodrome Operational Permit from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority. ValueJet will operate flights from Iperu to Abuja, providing increased connectivity and easing congestion at Lagos airports.
