Good News: Another International Airport Gets Approval To Begin Operation in Nigeria

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has granted approval for the Gateway International Airport in Ogun state to begin commercial flight operations. This approval is in line with the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations, allowing the airport to operate scheduled commercial air transport services.

An international aviation company is expected to start two weekly cargo flights from the airport, which is also designated as an alternate airport to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport. The airport has been commended for its quality infrastructure, including a control tower, weather monitoring area, runway, and fire service station, making it one of the best in the West African region.

The airport is set to boost trade, investment, and tourism in the state, positioning it as a strategic aviation hub. This development comes as Nigeria continues to expand its aviation sector, with 21 airports operated by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and plans for more airports in the pipeline.
