Morocco Defeats Algeria 1-0 to Advance in WAFCON

In a crucial Women’s Africa Cup of Nations group match held on Thursday in Rabat, Morocco defeated Algeria 1-0, with Sanaa Mssoudy scoring the decisive goal in the 84th minute. The match took place at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium, where Algeria's defense held strong under pressure until Mssoudy found space to strike.

After a corner was cleared, Mssoudy controlled the ball and scored past goalkeeper Chloe N’Gazi. This victory lifted Morocco to six points in Group A, while Algeria and Senegal each have three points, and Kenya remains without points.

Morocco, ranked 64th in the world, aims to improve upon their previous WAFCON performances, having reached the finals in the last two tournaments. The match attracted a near-capacity crowd, including Moroccan men's coach Mohamed Ouahbi and CAF 1st vice-president Fouzi Lekjaa.

The final group matches will determine the quarter-final matchups.
