Fans draped Moroccan flags and cheered in the streets, with car horns blaring and firecrackers exploding as hundreds gathered to celebrate.

However, the atmosphere turned tense when riot police arrived to disperse the crowd, deploying water cannons and conducting baton charges. Reports indicated that around a dozen individuals were arrested, with police pinning several young men to the ground and handcuffing them before taking them away in police vans.

Despite the clashes, no major damage was reported. The match ended in a thrilling 1-1 draw after extra time, leading to a penalty shootout where Moroccan striker Ismael Saibari, who plays for PSV Eindhoven, scored the decisive penalty, securing Morocco's place in the last 16 against co-host Canada.
