Mother and Son Held Captive in Kaduna for Three Weeks

Three weeks after suspected bandits invaded Kyauta New Millennium City in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Asma’u and her son Umar remain in captivity. They were abducted from their home during the attack, which also resulted in the death of a member of the Joint Task Force (JTF) who was shot by the attackers.

A family source reported that the victims are still held by the bandits, raising concerns about their safety and health, especially during the rainy season. The family is increasingly worried about the delay in securing their release and has appealed to the government and security agencies for assistance.

The incident occurred last month, and a JTF member, speaking anonymously, mentioned that security volunteers worked overnight to trace the attackers following the incident. The father of the victims managed to escape during the attack.
