MTN CEO Karl Toriola Shares Tips to Extend Mobile Data

At a data trial event in Lagos, MTN Nigeria's CEO Karl Toriola provided six practical tips aimed at helping users manage their mobile data more effectively. He emphasized the importance of understanding daily phone usage to make smarter choices regarding data consumption.

Toriola noted that background activities from applications such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube are significant contributors to high data usage. He advised users to check their phone's data usage weekly and identify the top three applications consuming the most data.

Additionally, Toriola recommended restricting background data for non-essential apps and suggested using Wi-Fi connections whenever possible to reduce pressure on mobile data. He highlighted that many users mistakenly believe that closing apps stops their data consumption, which is not always true.
