MultiChoice Cuts DStv Decoder Prices Amid Subscriber Decline

MultiChoice, the parent company of DStv, is slashing prices of its HD decoders by 30-40% in several African markets, including South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya. This move comes as a response to a significant decline in subscribers, with GOtv losing 1.4 million subscribers in Nigeria alone.

The company reported a loss of 2 million subscribers across Africa in recent years. Despite facing economic challenges and competition from streaming services like YouTube and Netflix, DStv has maintained its subscription fees but is offering decoder price cuts to attract more customers.
