According to the latest Forbes list published on Tuesday, Elon Musk is recognized as the wealthiest individual globally for the second consecutive year, with a staggering estimated net worth of $839 billion. This marks a significant increase of roughly $500 billion over the past twelve months.

The surge in Musk's fortune is attributed to the rising valuations of his companies, Tesla and SpaceX, as well as the anticipation of a public offering for SpaceX targeted for 2026. Musk has made history by becoming the first person ever to surpass the $800 billion mark, and he is on track to potentially become the world's first trillionaire.

The Forbes list also noted that there are currently 3,428 billionaires worldwide, with a combined fortune reaching an all-time high of $20.1 trillion.
