Plateau Governor Mutfwang Restores Peace, Warns of Threats

On Friday, Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State assured residents that peace has been restored in the state and cautioned against any attempts to destabilize it. During an emergency security council meeting held at the Rayfield Government House, Mutfwang reviewed recent security developments, including a mining tragedy in Wase Local Government Area and two separate road attacks in Dorowa Babuj that resulted in the deaths of innocent individuals.

He expressed condolences to the families affected and commended security agencies for their efforts in preventing further loss of life and property. Mutfwang urged residents to refrain from taking the law into their own hands, particularly regarding unauthorized highway protests, and emphasized the need for community vigilance to report any potential threats.

He also acknowledged a condolence visit from the Plateau State National Assembly Caucus, which condemned the recent incidents and pledged legislative support to address ongoing security challenges. The governor reaffirmed his administration's commitment to peace and unity in Plateau State.
