EFCC Detains Sujimoto CEO Over Alleged N5.7bn Unexecuted Contract Scam

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has obtained a court order to detain Sijibomi Ogundele, the Chief Executive Officer of Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited, over an alleged unexecuted N5.7 billion contract. Ogundele is being investigated for failing to deliver a Smart Green School project in Enugu State despite receiving the payment.

The EFCC is probing how the funds were spent without fulfilling the contract obligations. There are indications that the EFCC may also seek to freeze Ogundele's personal and company accounts.

The court order allows the EFCC to restrict Ogundele's movement pending the completion of the investigation into the alleged contract scam.
