NYSC Pays Arrears of N77,000 Allowance: Jubilation Among Former Corps Members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has resumed payment of a newly implemented allowance, with arrears being settled after a two-month break. The payment covers the period from July 2024 to March 2025, benefiting the 2024 Batch Stream 2 corps members.

The first beneficiary received the arrears on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. NYSC Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu assured that all corps members who recently completed their service will receive the new monthly allowance.

Despite the increase, corps members still face challenges due to high living costs. This payment marks the first disbursement since June 3, 2025, and aims to support former corps members financially.
