NAFDAC Seals Chinese Supermarkets in Abuja for Unsafe Products

NAFDAC sealed two Chinese-owned supermarkets and eight cosmetic shops in Abuja for selling unregistered and potentially harmful products. The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration Control took enforcement action following consumer complaints and surveillance operations.

The closure was due to the sale of food items exclusively labeled in Chinese without English translations, violating regulatory standards and posing health risks to consumers. NAFDAC emphasized the importance of proper labeling to ensure consumer safety and informed purchasing decisions.
