NAICOM and FRSC Collaborate on Motor Insurance Enforcement

The Nigerian Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have established a joint committee to enforce compulsory third-party motor insurance. This initiative is a significant step towards implementing the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act of 2025.

The committee's primary responsibilities include reducing the number of uninsured vehicles nationwide, ensuring quick medical support for accident victims, and promoting awareness of insurance benefits. Deputy Commissioner of Insurance, Ekerete Ola Gam Ikon, highlighted the committee's key objectives during the inauguration held at NAICOM's headquarters in Abuja.
