Naira Marley Speaks Out on Mohbad’s Death, Shares His Side of the Story

Nigerian musician Naira Marley has addressed the controversy surrounding the death of his former signee, Mohbad, in a detailed video statement. Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27, leading to speculation and outrage.

While a Magistrate Court in February 2024 cleared Naira Marley and others of involvement in Mohbad's death, a Coroner Court later found an auxiliary nurse guilty of gross negligence. Naira Marley shared his perspective, revealing that he had tried to support Mohbad when he discovered his drug use in 2020.

He also addressed the NDLEA raid in 2022, where Mohbad was detained, claiming that Mohbad made accusations under duress. Marley denied any involvement in Mohbad's death and expressed readiness to hand over royalties to Mohbad's family or the court.
