Nigerian Naira Missing from Top 10 Strongest African Currencies List in December 2025

The Nigerian Naira was conspicuously absent from the list of the top 10 strongest currencies in Africa in December 2025. Several African economies, including Tunisia, Ghana, Morocco, Libya, and Botswana, were noted for their currency appreciation against the US dollar.

Despite some improvements in the Naira's value, it traded below N1,500 per dollar officially and on the black market. The Naira experienced a slight weakening trend, closing at N1,454.38 per dollar on a recent trading day.

This comes at a time of high inflation, rising debt levels, geopolitical disruptions, and global market uncertainties.
