16 Military Officers Detained Over Alleged Coup Plot Against Tinubu

Nigerian authorities have detained 16 senior military officers over an alleged coup plot against President Bola Tinubu's administration. The detained officers consist of 14 from the Nigerian Army and two from the Nigerian Navy and Air Force each.

Among the detained officers is Brigadier General Musa Abubakar Sadiq, suspected to be the leader of the alleged coup plot. The list includes Lieutenant Colonel M.

Ma Aji, a former battalion commander in Ondo State, and Lieutenant Commander D.B. Abdullahi from the Nigerian Navy.

The investigation is ongoing to determine the extent of the alleged conspiracy. The Nigerian government has maintained silence on the matter, emphasizing that the alleged coup plot is not related to the low-key independence anniversary celebrations held on October 1.
