NANS Praises Tinubu and Umahi for Kano Bypass Project

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) commended President Bola Tinubu and Minister of Works David Umahi for the construction of the Northern bypass in Kano State. NANS President Akinteye Afeez stated that the project, a 69.4-kilometre dual carriageway with three flyovers and seven bridges, is a significant intervention in the North-West, expected to ease traffic congestion and improve access to campuses and communities.

The commendation followed an inspection of the project by NANS, part of a nationwide tour assessing federal road projects affecting students. Afeez noted the bypass connects ten institutions and is crucial for students traveling through Kano.

He praised the quality and pace of construction and acknowledged the government's compensation to farmers whose land was acquired for the project. NANS urged the Federal Government to maintain the construction pace for timely completion, emphasizing the importance of the project for affected communities and students.
