NARD Begins Payment of Long-Awaited CONMESS Arrears

The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) announced the commencement of payments for long-awaited arrears related to the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS). Abdulmajid Ibrahim, the association's public social secretary, confirmed that the disbursement process has already begun, covering outstanding arrears that span six months.

NARD has communicated to its members that payments for the outstanding CONMESS review arrears have commenced, with assurances that those who have not yet received their payments will do so in due course. However, it was noted that the August component of the arrears is currently experiencing minor administrative delays, which may extend the payment timeline by two weeks.

The ongoing payment of arrears is viewed as a positive step towards addressing long-standing welfare concerns and reducing the risk of potential labor disputes within the healthcare sector. NARD has expressed appreciation for the patience and resilience of its members during this process.
