ACR Fund Nigeria Supports 88,000 Farmers with Credit

ACR Fund Nigeria has initiated a credit support program aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity for 88,000 smallholder farmers across Nasarawa, Niger, Kwara, and Plateau states. The program was officially launched in a ceremony held in the Abioga community, Obi Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.

Zainab Haruna, a representative of ACR Fund Nigeria, emphasized that this initiative will help beneficiaries boost their yields during the rainy season by providing access to essential agricultural inputs such as fertilizers, seeds, and protective equipment. The program is designed to bridge the gap in training and ensure farmers can access these inputs without waiting for funds to purchase them outright.

Farmers can enroll in the program and gradually repay loans over five to six months. Kazi Nanyah, a community specialist, noted that the initiative aims to address barriers faced by smallholder farmers, including limited access to credit and rising input costs.

The distribution of 9,000 metric tons of agricultural inputs is part of this effort to strengthen rural livelihoods.
