Nasarawa State Urges Clubs to Win Football Titles

Hon. Kwanta Yakubu, the state commissioner for youth and sports development in Nasarawa State, has called on the state-owned football clubs, Nasarawa United and Nasarawa Amazons, to aim for victory in the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL).

As of now, Nasarawa United occupies the fourth position in the NPFL table with 41 points, just three points behind the leaders, Ikorodu City. Meanwhile, Nasarawa Amazons are positioned second in Group B with 15 points.

Yakubu expressed optimism about both clubs emerging triumphant in their respective categories of Nigeria's domestic football leagues. He emphasized the clubs' potential and the importance of talent, commitment from coaches, and the passion of fans as key ingredients for success.

Yakubu made these remarks during a media interaction with Nasarawa United's media team.
