NASENI Launches Clean Energy Program for 2,000 Households

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), represented by Executive Vice Chairman Khalil Suleiman Halilu, launched a program in Kano targeting 2,000 households to improve access to clean and reliable energy solutions. Despite technological advancements, many families still rely on traditional cooking methods, which pose health risks due to smoke inhalation.

The initiative, part of NASENI's zero carbon (ZECO) project, aims to provide clean cookstoves and solar home systems, particularly in rural and semi-urban communities. At the event, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment Jumok Oduwol emphasized the program's alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on industrialization, job creation, and economic growth.

The initiative aims to enhance access to decentralized clean energy, support small businesses, and reduce environmental degradation. Halilu noted the program's nationwide expansion, ensuring no community is left behind in the push for cleaner, sustainable energy solutions.
