NASENI Empowers 2,000 Kano Households with Clean Energy

On April 28, 2026, the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) launched an initiative in Kano State to empower 2,000 households with clean energy solutions. This program aims to provide reliable energy options, including clean cookstoves and solar home systems, to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and biomass, thereby addressing climate change impacts and improving livelihoods.

The event, held at the Fab Event Centre, gathered beneficiaries from rural and semi-urban communities. Dr.

Jumoke Oduwole, the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, described the initiative as a clear example of government policy translating into tangible benefits for citizens. She commended NASENI's leadership and its commitment to developing indigenous products and solutions.

The program aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda and supports key national priorities such as industrialization and job creation. Mr.

Khalil Suleiman Halilu, NASENI's Executive Vice Chairman, emphasized the importance of local technological deployment and the initiative's reflection of NASENI's mission to deliver practical solutions tailored to Nigerian needs.
