Senator Enang Warns Against NASS Overreach in Oversight

Former presidential aide and Senator, Ita Enang, criticized the National Assembly for allegedly overstepping its boundaries through oversight activities. Enang accused the legislature of delving into private company matters beyond its statutory oversight role.

Speaking at a workshop organized by the Senate Press Corps, he highlighted instances where legislative committees exceeded their powers. Enang cautioned against encroaching on the functions of the Executive, emphasizing the need for adherence to constitutional limitations.

He suggested that the National Assembly might be misusing constitutional provisions to exert power beyond its mandate.
