National Assembly Tightens Security Around Senate President Akpabio’s Office

The National Assembly has implemented heightened security measures around the office of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, restricting access to the area. The new security directive, effective immediately, limits access to the corridor linking the White House lobby to the Senate President's office exclusively to lawmakers.

A memo signed by Etido Ekpo announced the new security arrangement to maintain order within the National Assembly complex. The restriction prohibits aides, personal assistants, and staff from using the passage.

This move comes as lawmakers prepare to resume plenary sessions after a two-month recess. Ekpo emphasized the need for senators to brief their aides and staff on the new security protocols for compliance.
