ADC Alleges National Assembly Shields Certificate Forger

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expressed alarm over the National Assembly's actions, which they believe are aimed at shielding individuals who forge certificates from prosecution. Mallam Abdullahi Bodi, a spokesperson for the ADC, criticized this move as a direct insult to the educational development of Nigeria, suggesting it portrays the country as one that tolerates certificate forgery.

He highlighted that such forgery should not be a basis for challenging election results, as it undermines the integrity of the electoral process. Bodi noted that various stakeholders, including the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), labor unions, and civil society organizations, have condemned this situation.

He accused the ruling APC-led federal government of failing to uphold the law and allowing unethical standards to prevail. The ADC's stance reflects a broader concern about the implications of such legislation on Nigeria's societal fabric and the upcoming 2027 elections.
