Nigerian National Assembly Working on Electoral Reform Bill, Emphasizes Importance of Prompt Passage

Despite the bill's earlier passage in the House of Representatives, efforts are ongoing to harmonize inputs from various stakeholders for a robust electoral reform. The National Assembly's priority is to address shortcomings exposed during the 2023 general elections. Additionally, the African Democratic Congress has urged the National Assembly to promptly pass the electoral bill to avoid undermining critical reforms ahead of the 2027 general elections.
