Nigerian Navy Seizes 87,000 Litres of Illegally Refined AGO

The Nigerian Navy has intensified its operations against crude oil theft and illegal oil bunkering under Operation DELTA SENTINEL, successfully disrupting a concealed fuel storage facility in the Okarki axis of Rivers State. This operation, based on credible intelligence, was executed by personnel from the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) SOROH, resulting in the recovery of approximately 87,000 litres of product suspected to be illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).

Captain Abiodun Folorusho, Director Naval Information, stated that the facility contained not only the suspected AGO but also equipment related to the unlawful storage and handling of petroleum products. This operation underscores the ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks that facilitate the illicit petroleum trade in the Niger Delta.
