Nigerian Bar Association Calls for Suspension of Tax Reform Acts Over Alleged Alterations

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has called for the immediate suspension of the recently enacted tax reform acts in Nigeria over alleged alterations made to the versions signed into law. The association demanded a thorough investigation into the alleged alterations to protect the integrity of Nigeria's legislative process. The situation has raised questions about the credibility of the lawmaking process and the need for transparency.

NBA's statement was signed by Afam Osigw, urging for the suspension until the issues are fully examined and resolved. President Bola Tinubu signed four tax reform bills into law in June, including the Nigeria Tax Bill and others.
