Over 1.3 Million Nigerian Youths Apply for TVET Skills Training, NBTE Reveals

Professor Idri Muhammad Bugaj, the Executive Secretary of NBTE, revealed that more than 1.3 million Nigerian youths have applied for TVET skills training, marking a significant shift towards empowering youth with job-ready skills. The Ministry of Education aims to provide practical employment-focused training to address the country's rapidly growing youth population.

Bugaj highlighted the importance of vocational learning beyond traditional academic qualifications to meet the demands of Nigeria's labor market. Additionally, the government is launching programs to train millions of youths in digital skills and construction-related trades.
