NCAA Clears Ibadan Airport for Scheduled Flights, Approves Upgrade Plans

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has granted approval for scheduled flight operations at Ibadan Airport, as stated in a letter dated December 16, 2025. The approval comes after significant upgrades to the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport in Alakia, Ibadan, including runway extensions, airfield improvements, construction of aviation fuel storage facilities, and the building of a new protocol lounge.

The decision by NCAA follows a review of safety and critical operational arrangements at the airport, with strict compliance required for the interim operational permit.
