Dickson Calls Deregistration Ruling Embarrassing for NDC

Seriak Dickson, the leader of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), expressed strong disapproval regarding the recent ruling by the Federal High Court in Lokoja that directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deregister the NDC. During an interview on a political program on Sunday, Dickson described the actions leading to the deregistration as embarrassing and frivolous.

He emphasized that the ruling did not contain a mandatory order for INEC to deregister the NDC, asserting that the party remains a registered political entity. Dickson criticized the motivations behind the deregistration, suggesting that they were attempts to undermine political opposition and destabilize the political landscape, which he believes is a flimsy excuse to weaken and scatter opposition forces.
