NDLEA Arrests Notorious Drug Kingpin After 13 Years

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has successfully apprehended Reginald Peter Chidieber, a notorious drug lord, after he evaded justice for 13 years. Chidieber surrendered following the seizure of a significant cocaine and heroin shipment linked to his operations at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Ikeja, Lagos.

According to a statement from Femi Babafemi, the Director of Media and Advocacy at NDLEA, Chidieber was the mastermind behind multiple heroin shipments, including a notable 49.70-kilogram consignment imported from South Africa, intercepted in February 2024. His criminal history includes an initial arrest in 2013 for a cocaine shipment, after which he jumped bail and went underground.

The NDLEA, under the leadership of Brig Gen Moham Buba Marwa (rtd), remains committed to dismantling criminal networks and bringing offenders to justice. Recent operations have led to significant crackdowns on high-profile drug cartels across Nigeria.
