NDLEA and ECAP Collaborate to Seize Assets Linked to Drug Trafficking in Lagos State

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Eagle Crime Awareness and Prevention Initiative (ECAP) have announced plans to ramp up asset seizures connected to drug trafficking in Lagos State. Sam Adam, the founder and president of ECAP, disclosed this during a mass anti-drug advocacy campaign in collaboration with the NDLEA.

The campaign targets areas prone to drug activities like Maryland, Mushin, Oshodi, and others. The focus is on destroying the drug trade's economic backbone by seizing properties used by drug dealers.

Abubakar Wali, the Lagos State NDLEA Commandant, emphasized the importance of asset forfeiture as a deterrent against drug-related crimes. The partnership between NDLEA and ECAP aims to strengthen enforcement strategies and recover proceeds from drug-related activities.

The initiative also includes community sensitization efforts to engage residents and youth in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking.
