NDPHC Transfers Gbarain Power Plant Rehab to TILT/Schneider

The Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) officially handed over the rehabilitation project of the Gbarain Power Plant to a joint venture comprising TILT Energy Limited and Schneider Electric. This project marks a significant milestone in restoring the plant's 225MW capacity, which suffered extensive damage due to a fire in November 2020, just months before its scheduled commissioning.

NDPHC's General Manager, Ginsau Idri, noted the importance of replacing the burnt Power Control Module (PCM) and expressed confidence in the contractor's ability to deliver the project successfully within the scheduled timeline. Abdullahi Kassim, NDPHC's Executive Director of General Engineering, emphasized the project's priority status and the necessary approvals secured for funding.

The rehabilitation is expected to be completed within 12 months without compromising quality, as assured by TILT Energy Limited's Managing Director, Deji Awodeji. The project is part of the federal government's agenda to strengthen electricity supply.
