North-East Leaders Back Tinubu for 2027 Election

On Thursday, leaders from the North-East geo-political zone, including governors, elder statesmen, ministers, lawmakers, traditional rulers, and political stakeholders, visited President Bola Tinubu in Abuja to endorse his re-election bid for 2027. The delegation, led by Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Zulum and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, expressed their commitment to mobilizing grassroots support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

They praised Tinubu's decision to retain Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate, highlighting it as a recognition of loyalty and competence. Zulum emphasized the importance of Shettima's role and the ongoing infrastructure projects and security interventions initiated by Tinubu's administration, which they believe are transforming the region after years of insurgency.

He also acknowledged support from leaders in the North-West and North-Central regions, reinforcing unity within the APC and the Federal Government’s commitment to the North-East's development.
