Kogi School Attack: NECO Confirms No 'Miracle Centre'

The Kogi State government confirmed that the school attacked during the 2026 WAEC Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) is not a "Miracle Centre," as stated by Hon. Kingsley Fanwo.

Azeez Sani, the acting director of NECO, disclosed that the government paid examination fees for 51 candidates from the school. The NECO leadership, led by Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, expressed sympathy for the victims and commended the efforts of security agencies in rescuing four abducted individuals.

The school, owned by the Kogi State government for 40 years, has registered candidates for NECO SSCE since the year 2000, with 28 candidates registered for the 2026 examination. The NECO council has implemented reforms to reduce examination malpractice, urging public officials to verify information to avoid undermining the institution's reputation.
